We were delighted to be joined by Dr Naomi Lawson Jacobs for this year’s Hook Lecture.
Titled ‘Just Belonging’, Naomi explored power, welcome, and the barriers to belonging for disabled people in churches, both through the lens of their academic work, and of their lived experience as a disabled person.
Revd Dr Jessie Fubara-Manuel offered a response with insights from her work with women living with HIV in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, and asked what Hook would have to say about disability justice in 21st Century Leeds.
